DeclarationDeclaration
The Constitution of India as well as other laws have conferred equal rights and status on women. These however have not been actualized as yet. In every field, women occupy a secondary and subsidiary place. The role of the Stree Mukti Sanghatana therefore becomes necessary to help liberate women from economic, social, political, cultural and psychological oppression.

The Meaning of Women’s Liberation
We believe that the psychological slavery of women can only be done away with when the economic, political, social and cultural obstacles in their path are removed. Abolition of division of labor based on sex differentiation is a pre-condition for women getting a place of equality with men in all walks of the society i.e. for total women’s liberation. We also believe that the liberation of women is possible only with the process of the liberation of the society as a whole.

Dynamics of Women's LiberationDynamics of Women’s Liberation
Total women’s liberation is not possible at an individual level. Even if some women, for example, free themselves from mental slavery they cannot change the attitude of the society towards women. That requires a social and collective struggle. The struggle has to take place at three levels:

(a) An intellectual struggle with oneself
(b) A struggle in individual practice and
(c) Collective struggle

We believe that it is necessary to launch a collective and organized movement for struggles at all the three levels.
