Following are the activities of the Stree Mukti Sanghatana:

Cultural Troupe

CULTURAL TROUPE
The cultural troupe of Stree Mukti Sanghatana, has a consistent track record of 30 years. It has reached every nook and corner of India with the help of powerful plays and numerous songs on women’s issues. Since 1979 7 plays have been staged and numerous songs composed on women's issues to create mass awareness.

Awareness Campaigns

AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS
To reach larger audiences for spreading the message of equality in various parts of Maharashtra and India, SMS has taken up a novel way of campaign (Yatra) of 10 to 15 days at a stretch.

Day Care Centers

DAY CARE CENTERS (Crèche)
Since 1989 SMS has been running Day Care Centers for the children of working women. At present there are 5 such day care centers in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

Counseling Centers

FAMILY COUNSELING CENTERS
The first counseling center for distressed women was established in 1985. At present SMS has 10 counseling centers for distressed women in 7 districts of Maharashtra.

Publications

PUBLICATIONS
Since 1975, SMS has published 25 books. SMS has been publishing its magazine called Prerak Lalkari (Clarion call) since 1986. It has a circulation of 5000 copies every month.

Audiovisual Material

AUDIOVISUAL MATERIAL
SMS has prepared 7 Poster exhibitions 7 audio cassettes, 3 video cassettes, 2 slide shows and a couple of CDs since 1975.

Jidnyasa (Quest)

JIDNYASA (Quest)
Adolescent Sensitization Programme of 18 hours for 25,000 9th Standard students of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and also in 8 districts in Maharashtra every year since 1996. The programme is run in coordination with the Institute for Psychological Health and with help from the Mumbai Police. It has already spread in various districts of Maharashtra.

Parisar Vikas

PARISAR VIKAS
Parisar Vikas aims to address the problems of waste management and of self-employed women engaged in the ‘menial’ tasks of collecting waste. Women have been organized and are being trained in environmental entrepreneurship programme which includes skills in organic manure making, gardening, leadership development and formation of cooperatives, etc.
